Social Mobilization
Community mobilization is central to the Syria Immunization Group (SIG)'s strategy to ensure the success of vaccination campaigns in conflict-affected areas. By building trust and engaging communities, SIG overcomes resistance, increases vaccine coverage, and prioritizes zero-dose cases—children who have missed essential vaccinations.

Key Pillars of SIG’s Approach
Collaboration with trusted figures such as sheikhs, school teachers, doctors and pharmacists builds trust and increases participation in vaccination programmes.
Awareness and education
The Community Mobilization and Behavior Change Team works to provide accurate information about the vaccine through home visits, public meetings, and social media.
Universal access
Targeting all segments of society, including the displaced, to ensure that services are delivered to all target groups and that they are accepted.
Sustained Engagement
By promoting ongoing community dialogue, follow-up, and continuous training, the Syria Vaccine Team works to integrate vaccination as a priority in family life, creating a culture of health and prevention.
Through these strategies, SIG strengthens community trust, eliminates zero-dose cases, and enhances vaccination rates, contributing to better health outcomes in Syria’s most vulnerable regions.
